Description

The Dao people have preserved their tea traditions across generations following the flow of tea. Hand-picked in the first flush of spring, when tender buds and single leaves awaken, this tea captures the essence of an ancient tea forest — the pure streams, fresh air and mineral soils.

In birth newborns are bathed in tea water. Rituals are guided by tea. Days begin with a shared cup and the seasons follow the rhythm of the tea harvests. When their time comes, they return to the earth – they are cremated with the ashes of fallen tea tree branches and buried beneath the ancient tea tree forest— completing their circle of life.

This tea is a reflection of the rugged environment and their way of life. First sip is bright and refreshing, with delicate vegetal notes of fresh spring greens, and wildflowers but as it lingers, a sweetness emerges and endures — the enduring energy or cha qi is what carries you through your day.
