Quick Info Guide

Description

Dianhong is a Prized black tea from Yunnan. This tea delivers a rich, malty, sweetness with notes of cocoa, honey, and dried stone fruit.

The leaves are carefully handpicked from large leaf assamica varietals which gives the tea a rich and bold taste.

This tea is crafted using traditional sun-drying techniques — after withering, rolling, and partial oxidation, the leaves are naturally dried in the sun. When looking at the leaves you will notice golden leaves, this is a characteristic of the young buds which have turn golden once dried.  The gentle, low-intervention method helps preserve the tea’s natural aromatic compounds and develops a clear, refined flavour profile with subtle sweetness and complexity. The maturation of the tea has also further softened and smoothed with time. Note of dried fruits emerge and subtle woody notes appear. Astringency and bitterness is smoothed out with age, the tea can be drunk smoothly.

On the palate, this tea delivers a smooth, mellow body with gentle sweetness, mild maltiness, and nuanced floral and fruity highlights. Its balanced character is free of harsh bitterness or astringency.
